How to get your first Fiverr order: a system, not luck
Bevin waited almost a year for his first Fiverr order. This is the system that ended the silence, step by step.
Almost a year. That is how long Bevin waited for his first Fiverr order. Not because he lacked skill, but because he had no system. Here is what changed.
1. Stop selling everything
A gig that says "I will do any design" competes with millions of others. A gig that says "I will design a mobile app UI for fitness startups" competes with a handful. Specific wins.
2. Match your portfolio to your gig
If your gig sells app UI, your gig images and portfolio must show app UI. Three strong, relevant samples beat twenty random ones. Buyers decide in seconds.
3. Write the title for search, the description for humans
Your title should contain the words buyers type: "mobile app UI", "Figma", "landing page". Your description should talk about the buyer's problem first, then how you solve it. Our free AI gig generator gives you a strong first draft.
4. Price with three packages
Basic to get clicks, Standard as the real offer, Premium to make Standard look reasonable. Read the biggest pricing mistake before you set yours.
5. Be active and fast
- Reply to messages within an hour when you can. Response time matters.
- Stay online during your buyers' working hours, not just yours.
- Send thoughtful Buyer Request replies, not copy paste templates.
6. Improve weekly, not randomly
Every week, check impressions, clicks and messages. Low impressions means fix the title and tags. Low clicks means fix the thumbnail and price. Low orders after messages means fix your replies.
The silence at the start is normal. Staying in it is optional.
